If it's Total War, just let them fight to death, it's not Total Equilibrium. Hmmm, not a wise decision from CA making the game to follow scrips like that, in my humble opinion. This kinda explains a lot regarding the fact that the AI kingdoms don't really fight each other but rather retreat their full-flagged armies all the time, don't destroy factions and don't expand that much conquering almost nothing in the first 100 turns.

Not very fair to be defeated like that, but on the other hand you can't just sit on the job forever, dicking around.īut it's not fair because if you're Scotland, how can you interfere with Egypt's goals (excepting Crusades, ofc) or if you're Russia how can you prevent the Moors from winning when you gotta concentrate on your own objectives? I must confess, I played over 30 short Vanilla campaigns but never-ever lost that way.

Wait a second, it's possible to lose your campaign just because the AI finishes his sooner? Really?! The longer you play the more the chances for an AI faction to complete their objectives and be declared winner and end your campaign, but it depends on the mod and how easy are the objectives.
